News: self-tests after returning from holiday

We hope you enjoyed your holiday and that you are refreshed and re-energized to get back to work.  Did you visit any crowded tourist locations in The Netherlands or did you go abroad during your holiday? It is possible that you accidentally contracted the coronavirus without noticing. Even if you are fully vaccinated, you can sadly still carry and transmit the virus.

By now you will have received a special holiday package from Marel or you will receive it in the next couple of days. The package includes five self-tests. To ensure the safety of our colleagues and business continuity, we would like to ask you for a favor.

We kindly ask you to do a self-test at home before coming to the Marel location during the first five working days after your holiday.

1. Have you just returned from a holiday in The Netherlands or abroad that does not require quarantine? Try to work from home as much as possible during the first week.
2. Will you come back to the Marel location in the first week after your return? Even if you feel in tip-top shape, take the quick test at home in the morning before you come to work.
3. If you come to work every day that first week, you need to do this for five working days after returning from vacation. This package includes five self-tests.
4. Is your self-test positive? Don’t come to work, go into quarantine and make an appointment for a PCR test at the GGD test site.
5. Are you short on tests? For example, because you are going on holiday multiple times or have been in a situation with many people without 1.5 meters social distance? Please get in touch with your manager, who can arrange additional self-tests.
6. Do you have tests left over after your first five working days, because, for example, you only needed a self-test once? You can save the remaining tests for the weeks after, when you want to come to the Marel location and make sure you’re okay. This may apply when you’ve had a party or sporting event over the weekend.
7. Are you a traveling employee? Then different regulations apply. Ask your manager.

We can’t oblige you to take a self-test, but we would greatly appreciate it if you could comply with our request. We are proud of how we have worked jointly through this corona crisis so far.
