Here at Marel we think that it is very important that we treat one another decently and respectfully. In any company, however, it can happen that something is not right in this area. At work, employees can be confronted with inappropriate behaviour such as teasing, sexual intimidation, discrimination and aggression. It is then good if an employee affected by such behaviour can go with his or her problem to a confidential adviser within the company.
There is a confidential adviser for employees who want to report or complain about unwanted behaviour such as
- aggression and violence
- sexual intimidation/unwanted intimacy
- teasing
- discrimination
The job of confidential adviser covers among other matters:
- A first point of contact for employees who have been importuned and who need help and advice.
- Seeing whether the matter can be solved informally.
- Giving the victim information about other ways of solving the situation such as complaint procedures.
- If asked for, accompanying the employee if he or she wishes to put the matter to a complaints commission or the management of a company.
- Passing the matter to other assistance bodies such as, for example, a mediator.
- Giving advice on the approach to be taken in cases of unwanted behaviour.
- Advising and supporting managers and management in avoiding unwanted behaviour.
- Registering cases of unwanted behaviour.
A confidential adviser will always treat information received from employees with confidence. There is an obligation to secrecy.
You will find a list of our confidential advisers here on the intranet.
You can also approach our company doctor with the above problems: [email protected].
