What is a Health Check?
Marel believes it’s important for you to be energized and enjoy your work, now and in the future. That’s why Marel Netherlands is offering personal Health Checks this year! By participating in the Health Check, you’ll get a comprehensive picture of your physical and mental health, including your energy and stress levels, lifestyle, potential health risks, and more. It’s not just about your health, but also your balance, safety, and development. The Health Check helps answer the question: “How am I really doing?”.
The Health Check involves completing an online questionnaire and undergoing some physical tests. Additionally, you also have the option to add one test of your choice. This way, you can tailor the Health Check entirely to yourself! After the test, you’ll have a conversation with an advisor and receive various tips and advice based on your results, which you can immediately put into action.
The Health Check is conducted by the vitality agency Adaptics. Participation is free and anonymous.
Step 1 – Complete the online questionnaire
You will receive an invitation in your Marel email to fill out an online questionnaire about your health, balance, development, and safety. This invitation will be sent via Johan, the online portal of Adaptics. The questionnaire takes about 15 minutes.
After answering the questions, you can schedule a physical test which takes place in the Health Check Bus of Adaptics. You can choose your time and Marel location in the planning tool. Please refer to the schedule below to see when you will receive the invitation email and when the bus will be at your location.
Step 2 – Take the physical test
This test takes place in the Health Check bus. During the test, under the guidance of the vitality advisor, you will undergo several tests, including:

- Height, weight & BMI
- Waist circumference & body fat percentage
- Blood pressure & resting heart rate
- Cholesterol & glucose
- Eyes
Additionally, you have the option to add one extra test of your choice*:

- Hearing: test how well you hear and whether there is damage from too much noise.
- Lung function: find out how well your lungs are functioning and check for damage from smoking or factors in the work environment.
- Urine analysis: measure the blood, protein, and glucose levels in your urine and find out if you have possible infections, kidney damage, or a thyroid condition.
- Fitness: test your fitness with a cycling exercise and discover what this means for your health.
- Musculoskeletal complaints: examine which parts of your body, such as knees, neck, or back, cause pain and what impact this has on your life.
- Stress: check your stress levels, resilience, and fatigue by measuring the time between your heartbeats.
*For Manufacturing and Field Service, hearing, lung function, and musculoskeletal complaints are also standard in the Health Check. They can additionally choose stress, fitness, or urine analysis.
Important!
Prepare for your physical test by deciding which additional test you would like to have done. You don’t need to notify us beforehand, but you can indicate it at the start of your appointment. If you would like to have a urine test done, you can pick up a container from HR or reception. Please bring your urine with you to the appointment.
Step 3 – Personal advice session
Right after the test, you will sit down with the vitality advisor to review your results together, including the online questionnaire and the physical examination. You will gain insight into your health, and based on that, you will receive targeted advice and tips. This could include training sessions, tools, or coaching in the areas of health, balance, development, and safety.

Privacy
Adaptics handles your individual results with strict confidentiality. These are intended for your eyes only and will not be shared with Marel.
