Marel considers it important to provide a healthy, safe, and pleasant working environment. With the Samen Sterk program, we offer employees the opportunity to work on their own sustainable employability, now and in the future. For example, each employee is entitled to one paid employability day per calendar year (8 hours per calendar year), called your SE budget. There are various ways to use your SE hours.
The free activities of Samen Sterk
You can get started on improving your wellbeing by making use of the free activities of Samen Sterk! You can participate in various workshops, training sessions, and courses.
Think of introductory padel classes, CPR & First Aid courses, Time Management training, or a workshop on dealing with stress.
Own initiative? Go for it!
You can also use your SE budget for your own initiative. For example, for workshops through FNV, a consultation with a dietitian, attending a trade fair, or the training course you’re taking at your football club.
Not sure if your initiative fits within the SE budget? Ask your question via the contact form.
Contribute to a social cause
You can also use your SE budget for a social cause. For example, consider spending a day volunteering at a care facility, at the food bank, or with an environmental organization.
Conditions: You contribute on a voluntary basis without any monetary compensation to a non-profit organization.
How can you use your SE hours?
- Check out the Samen Sterk offer on the ‘Get Started’ page and choose from the interventions in the areas of health, balance, safety, and development.
- With each offer it is indicated how many SE hours you will need.
- You can find your current SE budget in your time registration system. You can also record SE hours in ServiceMax. Always coordinate your participation with your supervisor.
- Sign up for an intervention and get started!
Want to use your hours for your own initiative or a community cause? Please coordinate this with your supervisor. Upon approval, you can use your hours in the same way as for the Samen Sterk offer.
Terms and conditions
- The SE budget has to be utilized during working hours (7:00 till 19.00). If the activity is scheduled outside of your regular work hours but within the timeframe of 7:00 till 19.00, you may utilize the flexible working arrangement.
- The sustainable employability day is not an additional day off and therefore not intended for activities contributing to recuperation, such as a wellness day or doing nothing at home. Therefore, coordinate your own initiative or social cause with your supervisor.
- Hours spent by the employee on training reimbursed according to the training policy do not count toward this day.
- The timing of the sustainable employability day’s utilization requires approval from the supervisor and, if necessary, the department.
- It is not necessary to take the hours consecutively. You can use them for multiple activities on different days.
- The time spent on sustainable employability activities must be recorded under this category in your time tracking system.
