Move more during work

It is very easy to forget to move now and again during your work, as staying in the same position all day is not at all good for you.  By moving, you stimulate your circulation. This is good for all your internal organs and keeps you mentally sharp.

How?
At Marel we have different tools to help you move more: Standing tables:  try standing at meetings instead of sitting.  An additional advantage is that the meeting could be somewhat shorter!  A number of meeting rooms are furnished to allow meetings standing.  There are also offices available which you can set high or low.  These are available if medically advised. Have a word about this with our company doctor Maaike Wichers. You can make an appointment via email ([email protected]) or using the relevant cards at the counter.

    • Wobbly cushions or medicine ball:  for a change, use one of these on your office chair.  These are available from Sjef van den Tillaart ([email protected]), our SHE manager.
    • Desk bikes: Instead of sitting still, you can do your work cycling.  Use a desk bike for this.  These can be found in the new building at a number of flexible places.  Also, working in different surroundings can be very inspirational and can often give you fresh energy.  You win twice!
    • Walking routes:  if you are having a meeting with two or three persons maximum, go for a walk.  You will find a number of pleasant routes here. You can also see how long it takes to run the route.  Is it raining?  No problem.  Umbrellas are available at reception.
