Is it tennis? Is it squash? No it’s not, but Padel is definitely just as fun or maybe even more fun! This sport originated in Mexico in 1969 when a wealthy businessman didn’t have enough space at home to build a tennis court, so he came up with a similar sport with a smaller court. Padel is now the fastest growing sport in the world, and we can see its popularity growing in the Netherlands too, with Padel courts popping up everywhere.
Benefits of Padel:
- It’s a fast-paced sport, so it challenges your flexibility and reaction time;
- You are constantly moving and working out your entire body;
- You don’t need any previous sports experience, and it’s easy for anyone to learn;
- You play it with others (2-4 players), so it’s also a social activity.
Playing Padel helps you become fitter and more energetic. There’s nothing better than hitting a ball with friends or colleagues at the end of the day and letting go of all the stress.
